How to cook Alfredo Pasta

                                                              ALFREDO PASTA

This is one of my favorite recipes that I learned to create, I love how it's so simple and yet so delicious to make. Hope you all enjoy it. You can comment about the recipe if you like or let me know some few tricks of your own if you have :)

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 a pack Pasta
Cream
bacon( if it was in the freezer, take it out in the morning and make sure the ice melts completely)
1 tablespoon of Thyme
mushrooms
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
olive oil
salt

PREPARATION:

cooking the pasta:

1)you need to get a pot and put it on medium heat and then pour water in the kettle and let it boil.
2) After the water is done boiling in the kettle you must pour the water in the pot ( the water should fill about 1/2 of the pot or a little bit more depending on how many people will be eating)
3) Wait for the water in the pot to boil then you can pour the pasta in the pot and wait for it to boil and then when it boils you pour a tablespoon of olive oil in the pasta and an inch of salt
4) While the pasta is cooking you can just keep stirring but don't leave the pasta or otherwise it will burn
5) Once the water is finished in the pot check how the pasta is looking if it's still a little bit hard then pour water again and let it boil in the pot (but be careful don't pour too much water because otherwise your pasta will come out soggy and we don't want that )
6) Once the above is done you can take your pasta out

Cooking the bacon

1) Get the bacon and as I have mentioned make sure it is not iced at all. Now depending on how many people you are serving for it will determine how much bacon you should use. Start cutting the bacon in small pieces or cube pieces
2) Get a non stick frying pan and heat the stove and then pour about a table spoon of olive oil then wait for the oil to get hot
3) Once the oil is hot pour the cut bacon into the pot and start frying it until it becomes a bit brown.( be careful not to over fry it and then it burns or becomes crispy)
4) Once the bacon is brown you can start pouring the cream in the pot and start stirring and lower the heat so it simmers
5) While the bacon is cooking you can start cutting your mushrooms in small pieces as well or however you like it then you add it in the bacon mixture
6) You can add a teaspoon of 1/2 of black pepper and a tablespoon of thyme and start stirring everything
7) Let it all simmer for about 5 minutes then you can pour your bacon mixture into your pasta and mix it nicely so that the pasta has all the sauce.
8) And lastly enjoy your homemade alfredo pasta..If you would like you can add some grated cheese on top

How to cook meatballs and rice

Meatballs and Rice

My first food recipe are meatballs and rice
Hope you all enjoy this recipe and let me know if it was difficult to make and how your food came out. Email me osekano3@gmail. Com

Ingredients:
Salt
Black pepper
Coriander
Thyme
1 Half chopped onion
2 carrots
2 small baby potatoes
1 chopped tomato
Mince Beef
Beef stock
Knorr mince sauce
1/2 of rice
Olive oil

Preparing the food:

Cooking the rice
First step is to boil water ( pour as much water you can in the kettle)
Then place a pot on the stove and then once the water is done boiling you can pour the water in the pot
Wait for the water to boil in the pot
Then you can add the half a cup of rice and a pinch of salt and stir it
Once the water is done in the pot,add more water to the rice and then pour the water out to drain the starch in the rice then pour cold water in the pot (it nust jusy cover the rice) and take the pot to the stove
Then wait for the water to finish in the pot then your rice is ready

Cooking the mince

Chop the onion in small dices and place them aside
Peel the carrots and grate them and place them aside
Boil the baby potatoes( I just put them in boiling water in a bowl and cooked them in the microwave)
Cut the tomato in dices
Get the mince and put it in a big bowl and put a pinch of salt and add a teaspoon, a half of black pepper, add a teaspoon coriander and thyme (you can add more if you like )
Add the carrots and the onion then mix all the ingredients with the mince
Once all mixed arrange the mince to look like balls. They can be small, medium or large depending on how you want the meatballs to look like
Once done making the meatballs
Get a frying pan and pour about a table spoon of olive oil, once the pan is hot add the meatballs and keep turning them around until they have become brown or look like they are getting cooked
After that put the meatballs aside in a plate
Then get a pot and pour 1 teaspoon and a half of olive oil
Wait for the oil to get hot and then add the potatoes and the tomato
Fry them until the potatoes are a bit golden brown then after that add 400ml of cold water to the pot and add the mince sauce and stir and wait for it to boil
While boiling ,keep stirring
Then add a half of 1 beef stock and keep stirring
Then add the meatballs and turn down the heat and let it boil for about 30/40 minutes
When the water finishes in the pot add more (just enough to cover the meatballs in the pot).
Do that until the sauce becomes thick
Let your meatballs simmer and just keep turning them once in a while
After the sauce is a bit thick then you can take the pot out
And your food is ready:)

New adventure!!

For everybody that has been following my blog for the past year know that I love clothes and love to dress up. Now I have decided to change the blog and not just make it a fashion blog because that's not what I'm all about , I've decided to let you guys what else I'm interested in which is FOOD!! I love food, I love to eat!!! I swear you would think I don't get fed at home. I love to cook as well so I'm going to post my favorite dishes and the ingredients to those dishes.

Hope you will all love them like I do!!

Wednesday 14 October 2015

This week I am going to post a few things about the Small Acts of citizenry
Hope you all can make a difference too!!

Volunteer

Students can volunteer to help out at orphanages during weekends. They can offer to clean, cook or play with the children at the orphanages.

Study groups

Students can form mass study groups. Like for instance students in the same stream can meet up every weekend or they can decide to meet up on a specific day every week and they can help each other out with work they do not understand. Because they are all individuals there will be some work that some individuals do not understand and other individuals will understand so with that they will be able to help each other. If you’re a second year or a third year student you can also form a study group for first year students that struggle with work and you can meet those students every weekend in a group and help them out.

Community Service

Every month students can participate in community service. For instance, they can go to different places every month and pick up papers, bottles, etc. Students can also participate in community service in university by perhaps planting trees inside the university because the more trees you plant you are saving the earth.

Donations

Staff members and students can make donations during a specific time of the year. They can donate old clothes, canned food, shoes, blankets etc to the people in need or to orphanages. Students can also have a donation made for young girls that do not have enough money to buy pads every month. So what students can do is that they can ask for money donations to buy the pads for the young girls or people can donate sanitary pads and once there are enough sanitary pads the students can donate them to different orphanages or just young girls in the rural areas.

High waist jeans

High waist jeans are such an in thing. The nice thing about them is that you can dress them in winter or summer it just depends on how you dress .
Today I have options for how to wear high waist jeans in  summer and winter.

Summer

This is a high waist Jean with a crop top.
You can get the Jean from Woolworths or Forever 21
You can get the Crop Top from cotton on, Mr Price, Edgar's, Forever 21, etc

Winter

You can find a long jersey at Cotton on , Mr price or Edgar's.
You can wear a vest or a a Jersey and tuck it into the jean.

Hi everyone.
This is one of my favorite dresses in my closet. I love this dress because its simple and the color is simple as well but yet its elegant.
You can dress this dress down or up.
It can be a day dress so you would have to wear the dress with wedges , pumps or flat shoes.
If you want to wear the dress for an evening out you can wear the dress with some opened black heels or closed black heels. The reason why I suggest black shoes its because of the color of the dress you don't want to seem too crazy with color but if you like color you can add some with your shoes.

Dress from Woolworths
Wedges from Foshini

Black shoes from Foshini

Black boots from Foshini
